The history behind Mark&Simon brand

Simone and Marco are two Italian citizens. They've been living in China for a long time. They are principal founders of Mark&Simon. The idea was first brought to life by Simone, who has had a passion for audio since young age. He was disassembling radios and stereos even before his teen years, in the 80s, fascinated by the components inside. Marco had a similar background and passion, worked in electronics and programming in China for over 10 years. His granfather was a wood crafter, he also made speakers and amplifier enclosures.

Simone was always fascinated by how involving a great sound quality can be. He learned to tweak position of speakers, cables, the meaning of phasing, the result of "pure direct" sound etc. He started his first business in 2006 in Foshan, an IT high-tec company. It was the friendship with Dan, a Romanian Manager working in China for one of Simone's customer, who introduced proper high-end equipment to Simone. Dan was a very passionate guy. He was very experienced and introduced to Simone several high-end brand. It was the ultimate level of listening experience.

After the pandemic years, in mid 2023, Simone decided to test out some DIY board that were easily accessible in China. The very early seeds of Mark&Simon were planted. From August 2023 to March 2025, extensive R&D and repeated testings have brough a stunning high-end set to life, and it was called ELITE-DM.

At first, the set was developed with an high-end amplifier with dual balanced input, an external DAC and pre-amplifier. But at the end, Simone and Marco found an amazing solution by combining a direct input Bluetooth 5.4 chip Qualcomm QCC 5181, dual ESS 9039 Q2M DAC stage and a BJT/MOSFET final stage amplification, with dual mono design. The rest is history, and the first stunning system was born !

The brand logo has originated from Simone and Marco's name. They liked the sound of it, they decided to call it Mark&Simon. Instead of the &, the logo features a violin key note. The logo and trademark are registered in China.
